The residents of the region got this opportunity in connection with the introduction of new equipment in specialized laboratories.

- We are engaged in the determination of genetically modified organisms, as well as working in the direction of species identification of animals. This refers to the identification of the DNA of pork, beef, donkey and canine. This is done to protect consumer rights.

It happens that they sell sausage as Muslim, but in fact there is pork in its composition. Or on a tin can it says that it has beef liver, and there is pork. Such a case was in Astana, ”says Gulnara Azhigaliyeva, head of the bacteriological laboratory of the National Center of Expertise branch of the Committee for the Protection of Consumer Rights of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the Aktobe Region. The laboratory explains that the new method has only been introduced. Research will be conducted on customer requests (on a paid basis), as well as on samples taken during planned raids. New equipment allows you to do research at the molecular level (at the DNA level). Laboratory staff underwent special training. In addition to our region, the project within the framework of the state program of industrial and innovative development is being implemented in a number of regions. The range of provided services and the sanitary-hygienic laboratory expanded. Now, thanks to the new equipment, they will be able to identify more varieties of hormones and antibiotics in the products.

- Now there is a tendency to increase the number of antibiotics, for example, in meat products. Many growth hormones and antibiotics are used. Now we have the opportunity to determine a larger number of harmful components. That is, a more detailed study is being conducted, ”the laboratory explained. It is said here that in retail outlets there are many cases of falsification of the composition of products. For example, a fat content of 3.2 is indicated, in fact, the percentage of fat content is much lower. This is regarded as consumer fraud. All these violations and tricks will be able to identify new equipment.
