Akimats of Astana and Akmola region created a special headquarters to combat the Siberian nest. Specialists of the Ministry of Health, the Republican Methodological Center for Phytosanitary Diagnosis and Forecasting, the Kazakh Scientific Center for Quarantine and Zoonotic Infections have joined the actions of local executive bodies.

Scientists conducted studies of the Ishim and Nura rivers to determine the larvae. Samples sent to Almaty, the results would allow determining more precisely the species of insects.

In parallel, chemical treatment with insecticidal biologics is conducted. The works cover the foothill zone, the territory of the rural settlements of Koshi, Karaotkel, Talapker and Akmol.

The relevant services are constantly monitoring the movement of insects.
