The seminar covered issues of modern epidemiological situation of malaria, malariology actual issues and measures for the prevention of malaria.

In addition to the theoretical part, a practical session was held with the view strokes and certain types of malaria parasites supplies for laborants-parasitologists of district and city centers bacteriological laboratories.

April 25, 2016 the world community celebrated World Malaria Day for the tenth time. The motto - «End malaria for good» - «The end for the sake of malaria."

As World Health Organization's estimated, 3.2 billion people (about half the world's population) continue to be at risk of malaria.

The primary objective of the World Malaria Day - to consolidate efforts of all countries to control malaria, in particular: to support anti-malaria activities in endemic countries, to attract new sources of funding, to expand the research and facilitate the early implementation of the achieved scientific results into practice.

The main factors contributing to the spread of malaria in the world are: intensive migration of the population (tourists, seasonal workers and traders), resistance of malaria mosquitoes to insecticides and malaria parasites to drugs.

Today in Kazakhstan are mainly recorded isolated cases of malaria imported from foreign countries. The last indigenous cases were recorded 11 years ago.

To prevent local transmission of malaria a set of preventive measures was carried: inspection of certain contingents, training, entomological monitoring of the carrier, anti-mosquito treatment and health education of the population.
